It’s been a while since I have put up a progress post. Its been a learning process with playfield touchups and in the spirit of getting this game up and running I bought a new restored playfield. I wasn’t expecting to buy anything but for the price I couldn’t pass it up. I found a restored playfield on eBay UK for a $240 starting bid. I emailed the guy and he told me I could have it for $225 plus shipping. Seeing as it can cost $300-400 to get a playfield restored and clearcoated I jumped on the deal!
I figure I can still touchup my old playfield and sell it for $150 or so and end up with a much nicer playfield in my game. I have a few pics of the playfield and I hope it arrives as nice as it looks in the pics. That puts my timeline further out but in the end I will have a much nicer game. Seeing as I have not much money in this project to begin with I can afford to splurge a bit. I can’t help but be a bit sad though, if only my mylar removal didn’t go so bad and cause this damage in the first place. Oh well! Pictures:
