I knew I would love this game when I saw the first trailer. I picked this up a few days ago and started playing it this weekend with my kids. Nintendo did another smash up job on this game, taking a much loved license in a completely different direction. Everything from the graphics to the music (my favorite part) is very well done. I love the fact that this game is so low key; meaning its not a hardcore game and doesn’t punish you for doing bad. This type of game is perfect for my kids since there really isn’t a significant penalty for doing bad.
Of course those of us that grew up playing platformers want to do the best we can so every time you lose a life you lose a certain number of the beads and stars that you have collected along the way in the course of the level you are on. That’s OK though because this gives you another reason to play through the level and do better. I am only about a third of the way through so far, I will be sure to report back once I have completed the game with my full review.
