What a great series Halo is. I just finished up Halo 3. I love the background story that follows the action and number three did exactly what it set out to do; finish the story and provide a suitable ending. Now although I loved the ending, the enemies, level design, music and pretty much everything about Halo 3 there is one major problem with it. YOU HAVE TO PLAY WITH A FRICKEN GAMEPAD!!!!
Seriously that was a painful experience at times. I just simply cannot see how people play FPS games on a console. The sad thing is today’s consoles can support a keyboard and mouse but for some reason Sony and Microsoft choose not to. Both the PS3 and Xbox 360 have built in USB ports, why not use them? I wish I understood why Sony and Microsoft won’t support a keyboard and mouse, at least for the shooters. There are absolutely zero advantages to playing with a gamepad (And no I’m not counting being able to sit back lazily into a chair as a benefit for a gamepad).
Come on Microsoft and Sony! Start supporting the peripherals that REAL gamers like to use.

I downloaded the demo for LittleBigPlanet a month or so ago and totally forgot it was there. I was messing around with the PS3 this past Saturday with my kids and I noticed the demo. We fired it up and obsession has started! What an awesome game! My daughter loves the sticker and decorating aspect of the game and my son… well he just likes the game! We liked the demo so much that I went out on Sunday and bought the Game of the Year edition. This game has been available since 1998 and I can’t believe I waited this long to pick this title up.
I love that it is a platformer, in my opinion platformers are the best console games right nex to shooters. The creation aspect of it is a major plus but the real addiction comes in when trying to find all of objects and stickers found throughout the game. Every level has a certain number of items you can pickup and use to make your own customized levels. The collector mentality works a lot like in Shenmue where you are trying to get all of the little toys from vending machines; its addictive!
Of course the graphics in the game are phenomenal as well as the music. There is a lot of alternative, new age type music throughout the game. I guess my pinball projects are going to have to hang back for a bit!
I put this in the Wii last night for the kids to play and before I knew it even my wife was playing
The kids love the game. They kept playing the first stage over and over which was funny to watch. My little 3 year old loves Mario, now I just need to teach him how to JUMP!
Buying console games is habit forming… I know this because I have bought so many console games but have not played the majority of them. So I wonder where the inclination to buy so many console games comes from? Back when I was younger I would buy one game, play it until the end and then buy another. I guess the availability of money is one factor and the fact that I get free $50 Best Buy cards from my credit card rewards program doesn’t help
At least I’m not spending money to buy them!
I have quite a few console games lined up to play:
1. Metroid Trilogy
2. Super Mario Galaxy
3. New Super Mario Bros Wii
4. Zelda Twilight Princess
5. Bioshock
6. Halo 2 (PC)
7. Fallout 3
8. Virtua Fighter 4
I know I have a few more I just can’t think of them. I didn’t buy them all at once, these are games that I have collected in 2009. One of my new years resolutions is to actually play them
I just picked this up the other day:

I wonder how it plays? I have visions of sitting in the basement and playing this with my two kids. A multiplayer platformer mario game? I’m in for that!
What a stupid, idiotic immature slang for Nintendo… Ninty. I say DEATH TO NINTY!!!!
That is all.
